Covid-19 Helpline Report

Learning from the Pandemic

Covid-19 exacerbated the damaging impact of prison and the obstacles facing people on release. In response, StandOut launched a Helpline service to offer critical support to men leaving our partner prisons when face-to-face work was not possible.

The Helpline ran for 15 months and received more than 4,000 calls. Our work during the pandemic has only underlined that people leaving prison must be given the best possible chance to rebuild their lives if they are to move out of the justice system for good.

We've written a report to summarise our learning from the Helpline and give voice to the people we worked with during the pandemic.
