StandOut publishes 2024-25 annual report
We are pleased to share with you our Annual Report for 2024-25. The crisis in our prisons and wider justice system rolled on, with the level of need ever greater and more complex. StandOut continued to support men caught up in it to rebuild their lives beyond it. Here are three key highlights.
Stepping into influencing change
We have long said it takes a huge amount of courage to rebuild a life after prison. Wanting to reflect in our work this quality we see in StandOut participants, last year we adopted ‘courageous’ as our fifth organisational value. One thing this meant was stepping into influencing. What a year it was to begin that journey. With the new government came a flurry of opportunities to respond to consultations on the state of our justice system, and we are proud to have been able to take the views and experiences of StandOut participants to policymakers.
Strengthening our offer of support in the community
As well as taking courage, rebuilding a life after prison takes time. And that is why StandOut offers open-ended coaching and practical support – we are there for as long as someone needs us. Last year, a key focus was expanding our team of community coaches from two to four – enabling us to offer more consistent, personalised, face-to-face support to people who have been released.
Investing in staff wellbeing
We are committed to seeing our team thrive at StandOut and in their lives beyond it. This means investing in their wellbeing. In recognition of the fact that this environment is not an easy one in which to work, we increased the number of wellbeing days our coaches receive. On top of this, we introduced bi-weekly clinical supervision, where coaches can unpack the realities of working on the frontline.
